Amelia graduated from the University of Toronto with a Master of Health Science Degree in Translational Research and an Honours Bachelor of Science with a double major in Neuroscience and Physiology. She also received an Ontario College Graduate Certificate in Clinical Research from Seneca College, and then spent two years working as a clinical research assistant. During this time, she coordinated qualitative patient-centered research studies in oncology and paediatrics. Her primary research interests and experiences are in patient-centered care, knowledge translation, and health quality improvement. Amelia, who has experienced the challenges of living with borderline delayed gastric emptying since childhood and ulcerative colitis since 2020, is excited to join a network that is focused on transforming the management of IBD and IBS to improve the lives of patients living with these chronic digestive disorders.
