Khaleeya Gulamhusein is 18 years old and from Calgary, Alberta. She was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis and Autoimmune Hepatitis at the age of five and has grown up deeply connected to the patient experience. She is now pursuing a Bachelor of Health Sciences at the University of Calgary, where she has worked as a research trainee studying chronic kidney disease and collaborating closely with patient research partners. Through this work, she discovered the value of patient voices in research and became involved with the IMAGINE network. Khaleeya is passionate about advancing IBD research and supporting individuals living with similar conditions in better understanding their disease.
